Me

Mara is an avid photographer and writer. A frequent global traveler, she has two ongoing goals: first, to leverage her passion for photography in far-away locales to create vibrant projects that reflect various cultures and lifestyles; the second is to refine her craft from by engaging with, and learning from, artists in the field. Mara currently focuses on travel photography.  

Mara is currently preparing her thesis in international affairs focusing on climate change and violent conflict, using Syria as a case study. Before returning to school, she worked in development and fundraising within the international non-profit sector. Most recently she worked at the Rubin Museum of Art as their Senior Manager for Philanthropy. Previously, she was a Development Officer at EastWest Institute, the Population Council and the Women’s Refugee Commission.

She attended Bard College with a degree in Political Studies and has earned her ESL teaching certificate at the New School University.
